I'm Jonathan, a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
I help people who look fine on the outside but feel stuck in stress, overthinking, sleep disruption, or mind–body symptoms underneath.
My work is calm, structured, and practical. We focus on the patterns keeping you “switched on”, and use hypnotherapy to help your mind and body learn a new default, so change is something you can actually feel in day-to-day life.

My Story

I know what it’s like to look fine on the outside and feel anything but fine underneath.
This photo was taken in a place that’s meant to be the happiest on earth. To everyone around me, it looked like I had life sorted. A great family, a great home and, on paper, a great job. But inside, I was struggling with chronic anxiety and depression. My mind never properly switched off. I lived in constant rumination. My body felt on edge. In the evenings, I’d drink to take the edge off and escape the stress of work and the looping thoughts.
It might not look it, but I was stuck.
I also know what it’s like to feel trapped in a pattern you can’t think your way out of.
Like many people, I went to the GP first. I tried antidepressants and anti anxiety medication. They dulled things, but they didn’t create the change I needed. I turned to counselling. Some of it helped and I gained insight, but a year later the anxiety was still there. The overthinking was still there. The same stuck feeling kept returning.

What surprised me was this: insight alone wasn’t the missing piece. I could understand myself better and still feel the same.
At one point I genuinely wondered if this was just who I was: someone who would always have to manage it.
Then I discovered hypnotherapy.
Not the stage version people might imagine. Nothing woo-woo or wishy-washy. What I found was an evidence-informed way of working with the deeper patterns underneath how I felt, how I responded, and how I coped. For the first time, something genuinely shifted at the level it needed to shift.

And the difference, for me, was pace. Not overnight and not magic, but so much quicker. After a few sessions I wasn’t just understanding the pattern, I was stepping out of it. Old mindsets softened. Outdated beliefs stopped running the show. My body began to finally settle in a way it hadn’t before.
I began to see anxiety differently. Not as my identity, but as a learned response. A loop my mind and body had fallen into. And if a pattern can be learned, it can be changed.
That realisation changed my life.
I didn’t just want to feel better. I wanted to understand why this worked so powerfully when other approaches had only taken me so far. So I trained as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and went deeper into how the brain, the subconscious, and the nervous system shape our daily experience, including our thoughts, emotions, habits, sleep, and stress responses.

My background in medical immunology and psychoneuroimmunology has also shaped my approach. I’m deeply interested in the mind–body link, particularly how stress and subconscious patterns can show up physically, in sleep problems, gut symptoms, pain, and the wired but tired feeling so many high-functioning people live with.
Alongside that, I bring nearly two decades of experience in education, including senior leadership and headship. It’s shaped the way I work: calm, structured, and focused on real, measurable progress. I know how to hold space well, and I also know the value of clarity and direction, so you’re not left circling the same ground.
Today, I help people break out of the loops that keep them stuck.
And because I was diagnosed with ADHD later in life, I also understand what it’s like to live with a busy neurodivergent mind, patterns of overwhelm, and the frustration of feeling as though you should be able to 'just get on with it'. In this work, we don’t fight your brain. We work with it, in a way that’s practical, compassionate, and effective.
